GeneralThread-sepaled Penstemon. RARE. Described from a single herbarium specimen and not in cultivation. Blooms: July through September.

LeavesTo 55 mm (2+”) long & 1/10-1/15 as wide, entire, lanceolate, few fascicles (see previous species’ info.), not crowded.
Stems6 dm (24”) (one source says to 5’) tall, willowy, smooth.
InflorescenseCyme 3-5 cm (1-2”) long, 1-3 flowered, bare looking.
Corolla25 mm (1”) long, narrow, scarlet to deep red with a few white hairs in the throat.

HabitatLikely dry and rocky.
